James Farr: James' expertise includes more than 15 years of entertainment and sports marketing experience. His well-rounded background includes managing every aspect of marketing and communications projects. He also has a particular talent for event marketing and lifestyle promotions. Prior to BayAreaSportsChannel.Com, James served as the Sr. VP of Marketing & Development prominent sports trade association, where he was responsible for the brand marketing activities and partnerships. His extensive live event producer skills were often called upon during many of the association’s high profile members. James annually produced high-end industry events around the National Basketball Association All Star Weekend, the Super Bowl and National Football League Draft.

Prior to the association, James worked as the Manager of Events & Promotions for theHouse of Blues Sports Division. While at HOB, he became one of the youngest talent bookers on the famed Sunset Strip. He oversaw the division’s event programming, talent procurement and sponsor activation and fulfillment.  He produced many of the company'sevents at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games Tabernacle Venue.

His marketing career began while enrolled at college Contra Costa College. He took an interest in the industry and accepted an offer from the Los Angeles based National Music Marketing (NMM) to develop their new Urban Music Promotions Division. By the age of 24, James had produced domestic appearances featuring Jay Z (House of Blues Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympic Games), Tupac (House Blues Sunset Strip July 4, 1996) and Naughty By Nature (1998 Summer Goodwill Games Battery Park NY). In 2000, he secured two appearances for Olympic Gold Medalist twin brothers Alvin and Calvin Harrison on The Oprah Show. The two appearances resulted in a book deal with Hyperion Publishing and a national tour at Borders Bookstores.

Jeff has over 15 year of athletic broadcasting experience ranging from college, to high school and Pop Warner youth football games. Jeff broadcasting career includes several seasons as the voice of Contra Costa College football and basketball programs. While at Contra Costa, he launched the school’s first TV channel, KCCC. He produced the locally acclaimed weekly sports show entitled CCC Sport Beat.  For eight seasons, Jeff served as the audio engineer for the Oakland Athletics’ Diamond Vision.
 
In 1999, Jeff formed MK Productions L.L.C., to broadcast West County athletic events. The first broadcast was Feb 11, 1999 featuring Drew Gooden, 1st round pick in the 1999 NBA draft and Coach Ken Carter, the inspiration for the movie “Coach Carter” starring Samuel L. Jackson.  Jeff has broadcasted several North Coast Section Playoff games including the historic 1st round upset in North Coast Section Football when # 8 seed College Park upset #1 Alameda in 2003.
 
Jeff received his degree in Mass Communications from CSU Northridge. While in college he held several intern positions at KPIX- Channel 5 News, San Francisco and local cable access stations in southern California. He credits the late legendary Bay Area broadcaster Bill King as his influence.
